The Greenbush Soccer Club runs recreational and travel programs.
The goal of recreational soccer is to give young and novice players an environment where they can learn the game of soccer in a stress-free, nurturing environment. This allows our players to become comfortable with their soccer skills prior to seeking a higher level of competition. Rec soccer includes weekly practices, eight week fall and spring outdoor seasons, and as of 2014 the club began rec indoor, with games played at Afrim's throughout the winter. In keeping with the club's mission and the goal of rec soccer, the club also offers a "Rec Academy" to certain age groups. The Rec Academy is held one day per week, over a 4-6 week period, providing young players with additional opportunities to improve their skills while having fun playing soccer at their own pace. Rec soccer teams are coaches by volunteers who share the club's goal of providing a great soccer experience to our kids.
Greenbush Soccer Club travel soccer provides more experienced players with an higher level of competition that helps to add to their growth as a soccer player. The club offers travel soccer in the U10 through U17 age groups. Our travel program is affiliated with The Capital District Youth Soccer League (CDYSL) and the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA). The travel season includes a fall season (for certain younger age groups), multiple indoor seasons throughout the winter, and a spring season. Travel players can expect enhanced training and guidance from coaches who hold USSF coaching licenses. Our paid trainers focus on developing players through the four pillars of youth soccer development: technical, tactical, physical, and psychological. As with any youth soccer, the goal of the program remains centered on learning the game in a fun, friendly environment.
Greenbush Soccer also hosts pickup soccer throughout the outdoor seasons, for adults and kids of all ages.
