The Greenbush Soccer Club has one of the largest and most successful recreational soccer programs in the capital region. Our fall and spring leagues average 700 kids, playing on 65+ teams, ranging from pre-K to 9th grade. Rec soccer continues through the winter, with indoor seasons taking place at one of the local Afrim's facilities. Support of the program from the community, our sponsors, and our club member families couldn't be greater, and it provides an incredible environment for our young players to have fun and learn the game of soccer.
The goal of our program is to show our kids how much fun they can have learning the sport of soccer while teaching them the value of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fitness. Greenbush considers the U6, U8, U10 (pre-K - 2/3) age groups to be developmental, while the older ages are somewhat more competitive. Recreational soccer is an organized, safe, and enjoyable soccer experience for kids who want to play throughout the school year.
Greenbush Recreational Soccer is not focused on winning or losing. The score of games is not kept or recorded. The goal of the recreational program is to develop soccer skills and athleticism in young players, while allowing them to enjoy a fun environment.

Games: Each team has an eight game schedule. Games are typically played on Saturdays at the Greenbush Soccer Club - Phillips Road Fields. Games are a fun time for the kids to apply all the skills that they are learning during practice.
Practices: The coach of each team will schedule at least one practice per week. Some coaches like to add an extra practice occasionally. Please talk to your child's coach about the practice schedule. Practices are typically held at local schools/parks, as chosen by the team's coach.
Preschool Program: The Preschool program will consist of a 25-minute skills session and then a 25-minute game. Please note cleats are NOT allowed in the Preschool Program.
Coaching: If you are interested in coaching please email firstname.lastname@example.org. All teams are coached by volunteers and parents are encouraged to coach. Head coaches are currently offered the opportunity for ONE child to play at a discounted rate of $50.
If you are coaching and get the child discount, other siblings at the reduced rate ($65 per child). Once confirmed as a head coach- credit will be made to your account.
There will be a mandatory coach’s information session before the season begins.
Registration and Fee: The "early bird" fee for this season is $100 for first child and $65 for each additional child. This is available until 2/22/20. After the “early bird” period, registration is $120. There is a $2 processing fee for each family, please register all family members at the same time so as not to incur more than one processing fee. There will be a $10 fee added for payment not received by the due date.
Players are provided with a team jersey and are required to have shin guards and appropriate footwear depending on age level. Players in the Pre-K division must wear sneakers. All others can wear rubber molded (no metal) soccer cleats. Please be sure you are purchasing soccer cleats and not football/softball/baseball cleats. This is required for the safety of all players.
